Over the years guests have found the position ideally situated for visiting the west, north and east coasts, together with Inverness, the Highland capital.
Good salmon fishing is available at no extra cost for two rods on the Kyle. Two free permits allow for trout fishing in a good variety of nearby lochs owned by the local angling association. Some good-sized brown trout are in the lochs and lochans within the grounds. Many sizeable fish have been caught recently, as photographs testify, and some guests have dined well during their stay.
Golf courses are available in Bonar Bridge, Tain and Golspie as well as the well known championship course at Royal Dornoch, twenty-five minutes drive. A number of the locals play at Dornoch most days out of season.
